My first car (my age 14, car 25) was a Model A Ford. I used to steal heating oil from the tank in the basement. Started the car on gas (from a one gallon tank in the passengers seat!!!) and when it was hot switched to oil, which ran through a coil wrapped around the exhaust to get it warm. Smoked a bit - well, a lot - but it was cheaper than gas, which was then $.42 per gallon.
