The preserved record
The Gerry mailing-list record begins in 1994 and recovery continues through the present; it is not limited to 2011. Historical messages, dated Vanagon pages, original Files and modern community contributions remain distinct. Coverage and availability vary: consult preservation status. Preview/restoration addresses do not establish original-domain or mailing-list cutover.
Historical material is provided for reference and research, not as verified current vehicle guidance or professional mechanical, safety or legal advice. Source publication, capture and recovery dates are different. Check applicability and seek qualified guidance for safety-critical work. Preserving content does not transfer its author's rights or grant permission for unrelated republication.
Community participation
- Share only content and images you have the right to share. Respect attribution and other people's privacy.
- Do not post harassment, spam, illegal content, credentials or impersonation. Guest nicknames are not verified identities.
- Accepted public posts and permitted images may appear in discussions, weekly archives, search, feeds and public API or agent readers. Eligible public chat may appear in weekly archives. Do not treat chat as private or assume rollover deletes it.
- Website account access, profile visibility, historical attribution and mailing-list membership are different. Signing in or joining chat does not silently enroll you in list mail. Delivery remains subject to membership, preferences, moderation and sending policy.
Moderation may restrict content or accounts. A stable URL identifies a record; it does not guarantee that withheld content remains publicly readable. Original evidence and public reading copies are separate. Copies already received by email or retained by third parties may remain outside the site's control.
External services and automated readers
External publishers, suppliers and AI clients have their own terms. A source link or community mention is not endorsement, inspected condition, verified compatibility or permission to copy third-party material. Public readers do not grant member or operator privileges. Automated summaries and historical advice can be incomplete or wrong; follow the actual cited source and its evidence limits.
Availability and questions
The site is provided as is. We cannot guarantee uninterrupted service, complete historical recovery or the accuracy of every contribution. See privacy policy for data handling and contact the maintainers through the about page for corrections, removal requests or questions.
