Richard, the RHS head on our Vanagon seeps coolant when the weather is very cold but not in the warm weather and it seeps after a drive, not before. I assume that the rubber is getting harder and the loss of elasticity means a less than perfect seal with the head. When the rubber is cold, its just not up to the job. The heads are likely pitted as well. I don't know how long we can go on like this but in the mean time, "Fritz" isn't allowed to go out in the cold. -Larry '86 Syncro Westfalia Richard C Welsh wrote: > !@#$ Vanagon! just when i think i have her 'Dialed in', the damn van starts > squirting coolant out the rubber head gaskets at start up on these crazy cold > mornings. this can't be good.
