Vinnie has new fuel lines (within 1.5 years) so I'm not too worried;
but, with all the talk about the importance of maintaining/replacing
the fuel lines etc., I'm surprised that we aren't talking about
relocating the majority of the lines to reside somewhere
besides the engine compartment where the main ignition
source (heat) resides.
What I'm thinking is to relocate the fuel pressure regulator, send
lines, return lines, etc. to <underline>underneath</underline> the van
well <underline>ahead</underline> of the engine compartment. That way
the only lines "in " the compartment would be for a very
short run to the fuel injector rails. In the event of a leak
we would smell fuel much sooner than we would see fuel (as in
burning).
Am I missing something?
Do the length of the lines have anything to do with the pressure?
Am I wrong in thinking that the pressure is generated by the pump and
regulated by the regulator but would have little to do with the length
of the lines?
