If I'm not mistaken, the heated side mirrors came with the GL option package that included the power windows and power mirrors. Pretty cool, huh? My '89 GL Syncro Westy works the same way - I'm pretty sure it works with the rear defrost switch. Though we don't get much snow or even frost for that matter here in Santa Barbara, I did use them this morning to take care of some particularly heavy dew... :-) Brent Christensen '89 GL Syncro Westy Santa Barbara, CA -----Original Message----- From: Robyn Rudisill [mailto:robyn.rudisill@ADOBE.COM] Sent: Friday, January 28, 2000 2:20 PM To: vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM Subject: cold weather package? This is going to sound ri-frickin-diculous... We had a pretty good frost last night here in Seattle, so this morning I went out (being parked in a shady spot), started the van, turned on the rear defroster, grabbed the scraper (which I only own because we spent a couple of years in Omaha), and commenced the ice removal. Having neglected to scrape the side-mirrors while outside, I was quite surprised to see that the ice on them had melted and was running off just like the rear window. Hmmm. Never noticed that before. Are heated side-view mirrors different in appearance from non-heated? Is there a cold weather package on a 1991 syncro camper gl? What does it entail? Am I high as a kite? thanks robyn
