Help! The DMV here in IL wants to suspend the plate on my 85 Westy because
the gas cap failed the emissions check. What was coming out the tail pipe
passed but the gas cap failed for crying out loud! VW want $41.00 for a new
one. does anyone in the North end of Chicago have one for sale or trade? All
I really want to do is borrow one for the test. I don't think anything is
wrong with mine. it may be they don't know how to test Vanagons. They were
more interested in the Westy interior. Guess they don't see many come through
that station. An alternate source or non VW gas cap sub would be helpful.
