OK - I'm finally around to replacing all the "guts" of my shifter.  I have
removed the shell that contains all the plastic bits, and I can't figure out
how it is supposed to come apart.

Does the whole assembly press-fit into the steel shell (and therefore press
back out), or is there another trick?
