Hello volks,

    My '84 Vanagon has popped the top off the black tower, located to the
left front of the alternator.  Underneath the cap appears to be a diaphram
with a spring beneath it.  I have the top held back on with duct tape.  What
does this thing do, and can I use some epoxy to hold the cap back on or do I
need to replace the unit.
