I always set the valves to zero lash when first starting up the motor after rebuild, or head removal. Let the van run for an hour or so. Then I adjust the screw in one 360 degree turn (I figure the Bentley folks must've meant two half turns because two full turns is definately too much). Works every time. However I haven't done amount of experimenting that other folks have on the list with backing off the adjusters and checking compression, etc. I might try that when it gets a little warmer.
