It gives odometer info, i.e. rollbacks. and also lets you see the car's history. I was looking to buy a Eurovan in South Texas, low-miles and "rust free here in South Texas". Well after punching the VIN in at Carfax I found out the car spent the first 5 winters of it's life in Minnesota. And the reported mileage was a little suspicious too. 5000 miles in 2 years! I ran, not walked away from this van. If you are looking to buy a car don't pay $15 for a One-time report, spend $20 for their unlimited searches for 60 days. CarFax was invaluable to me as I found my EV MV on the internet for an Awesome deal. It is a tool you can use to limit your chances of being scammed.
