Hugo, drive a distance to warm up the old gear oil before draining and to be on the safe side, remove the filler plug before you drain. This way you won't be caught in the awkward position of having an empty transmission. Also warm up the new gear oil before using a transfer pump. It makes the job a lot easier. -Larry hugo lerner wrote: > hello out there, after the lengthy conversation of synthetics, i decided to > replace my tranny > fluid with redline mtl. this will be my weekend fun. > so, is there any tricks? im envisioning a trick with filling the tranny or > is this a straightfoward job? are there any special ways to get the fluid > from the bottle into the hole without making a terrible mess and wasting > valuable fluid? sorry if this has been repeated before but i am new to the > list and i havent > a clue how to access the archives.
