>My wife has been trying to get me to sell my 85gl for a year now. The >warm >start problem is giving her fits when she has to drive it (I'm trying >to fix >that). >I need a few more good comebacks and excuses for her question, "Have >you put >it in the paper yet?" In situations like this you have to focus on the positive aspects, and make light of the negatives. Much like a job interview. For instance if you have kids, emphasize its people carrying abilities. Get out the photo album and remind her of all the great times you spent in it. Its essential to take care of the mechanical niggles. If its a wreck better to sell it rather than allow all Vanagons to get a bad reputation. You can always buy a better one later.
