The horn on my bus is, um, hoarse. I get a sound, but is sounds
muffled or strangled.
I've already replaced the horn unit itself with a Bosch unit, and no
change in the odd sound. I'm thinking there is a wiring or ground
problem somewhere.
The contacts at the switch on the steering wheel appear fine.
Bentley wiring diagram shows two other places to check:
Ground connection on steering box: I crawled under there, but could
not see a connection. Where on the steering box is the connection?
I was looking at what bentley also calls the "transfer case", which
is where the steering column input is transferred aft to the
rack--this is the right place, no?
"Single wire connector behind dash": Ugh. Lotsa spaghetti in there.
Anybody fiddled with this before can give more precise indication of
where to find the connector?
Any other tips would be most welsome.
Thanks,
T.
