Subject:more on Agilis

Dear Members-of-the-list-not-bored-by-tires,

Well, after asking your advice, I called Michelin and learned that, though
not "reinforced," the Agilis are rated to carry heavier loads at higher
inflation pressures (1,875 lb @ 54psi) than the MX's (1,540 lbs @ 40 psi)
which *are* called "reinforced." I am not sure which Agilis ("51" or "61")
the nice lady was talking about. I'll check that tomorrow.. In any case,
for the plain vanilla Vanagon Michelin recommends not the Agilis, but the
MX's. They also claimed that the MX's would give better traction in the
snow (because of lower pressures) than the Agilis. Neither is rated "M&S."
Michelin does not have an actual winter tire to recommend for the V'gon.

I welcome your thoughts. I know that some of you have spoken highly of the
Agilis performance in the snow. I am wondering if they do as well or better
than "snow tires."

Woody
