don't you call one of the Baja Bug & Sand rails specialists who have been
doing work of this sort for years.

One example is Bee Line Extreme in Kentucky. They manufacture longer and
wider arms for Type 1's. There's a number of other companies producing
something similar.

Look in any recent Hot VW's & VW Trends mags for their ads.
