I have a 1985 Porsche 944 on which I just spent over $1000 on new and upgraded water pump, belts, hoses, tensioners, seals etc, etc. It looked like the thermostat was installed incorrectly as it wanted to overheat, but quit doing so as soon as I removed the thermostat. The car runs great but may need a radiator and/or a head gasket. In over 100 miles I have seen no overheating or water in the oil I do not want this car any longer, but I would like someone to benefit from the $1K I just spent on it, especially if its engine ends up in a Vanagon. So make me an offer, tell me your plans for the car and let's make a deal. I'm in Fremont, CA, and I think Loren has First dibs. I figure the car is worth about $1200 as a tax deduction, so that's the day dream target. Add the vanagon community discount , contributions to vanagon science and any other discounts you can convince me to accept, and come up with a number. JoE
