Here is some interesting trivia regarding the Mercedes alloy wheels
used from '73 to '85 on some models.  These wheels are forged rather
than cast, explaining why back in the early '80s when I wanted some
for my old Merc, I could buy cast replicas for $125 when the dealer
wanted $400+ for the real thing.  Usual Mercedes overengineering of
the period.
