Subject:Ordered rear 3-point belts today
From:ed

Since we bought our 86 Syncro as an all-weather school bus, we need rear
3-point belts for the ones in boosters, as well as belts for the rear
facing jump seats, which were missing.

I talked to George at Fitzgerald VW in Frederick, MD, who was very
helpful - even made sure I had my 10% discount coupon from my last
mailing handy :-). The good news is that the rear shoulder belts are
inexpensive ($122/ea) and appear to be readily available. We'll see how
long it takes.

A word to the wise: don't buy the rear facing folding seats without
belts - $122 for the belt and retractor (good), and $132 for the buckle
assembly (Yow!!). But I'm happier with new belts than with parts of
unknown origin where kid safety is concerned.

Regardless of how long it takes to fulfill the order, 2 thumbs up for
service, especially having heard the stories about "they don't make
them" and "it'd be illegal for us to sell them to you."
