The *very first* thing I fixed on mine, sitting at my sister's kitchen
table in Scotland (it was her van then), was the rheostat in the headlight
switch.  Just took the thing apart and cleaned as seemed appropriate, I
forget the details.  Worked fine ever since, about 100,000 miles and 8 years.
