I think Bilstein makes shocks with different settings for various
applications. True, the HD or Sport setting may be harsh in the Scirroco but
their standard setting is less stiff IMHO than the KYB gas-a-just. Have
compared them on two previous Type 2s and other cars. Shop around for the
Bilsteins for a better deal than $115. That said the KYBs on my Westy are
just fine.
