As I am trying to catch up on the archives, I was really interested in
the stickers and contest. Ron's chart was really useful in filling in
the blanks. The enthusiasm between the e-mails was infectuous...then
what happened? Surely those lame little flames couldn't put out such a
great service to this newsgroup.
When a listee before, we always talked of all sorts of ideas (just not
antifreeze and motors and transmissions, which are very important
topics because we all all tinkering with our boxes). The main reason I
bought my Westy was to travel and meet others. We told travel stories -
shared thoughts in between figuring out how to fix the fridge, whether
Ron was back from Europe and what line of parts did he get, and who are
the reputable machinics in our area. (Hi Scott, new listee!). And once
in awhile the flamers would get carried away. Whether in person or
online they always emerge. Anyway, the thought of those e-mails on the
bottom of the sticker page shutting down the entire process is terrible.
I can understand why Ken took his marbles and went home. But lets get it
back on track. The flamers are using sticker filters, remember;) The
sticker idea is great. The concept brings us together as a community. I
would loveto see more and was so disappointed the page was not there.
I'd love to get involved.
