Well, I've gone and done it!  After all of the research and time spent
looking for a decent Westy and finally coming to the conclusion that I
might have to go anywhere in the country to get one, I walked into work
yesterday and one of my colleagues told me of a Westy for sale right
here in Charlottesville!!  I'm now the proud owner of a 1987 silver
Westy . . . only catch is that the PO filled the final drive with ATF
when he changed the tranny fluid . . . :^(

So, the first order of business, once I get it towed to the house, is to
get an automatic transmission (or just a final drive?) installed.
Anybody happen to have a low-mileage one lying around they'd like to get
rid of?

Thankfully, the body and interior are in pretty good shape and the
engine was rebuilt 8,000 miles ago.  I'll be needing some smaller items
and some tips on how to get old duct tape adhesive off (grrrr!).  What a
great sound that engine has though!!  I wanted to drive it off so
desperately . . .

Well, I'll be getting back to you all, probably on a regular basis ;^),
but for now, I've got to go think about the decision I've made . . . Yee
Haw!
