I took my 88 Weekender on a long round trip to Las Vegas, a first long
trip since I bought it. It ran beautiful both ways between 70 to 85 mph
(50-60 on mountain climbing).
The only beef I have about my Weekender is its small gas tank which I have to
fill up every three hours or 180-200 miles (140 miles with a sign saying,
"next gas stop 45 miles")...
    Is there any thread out there about adding an extra gas tank to the
Vanagon? Ever thought of replacing the spare tire with spare tire gas tank
and hook up to the existing gas tank? Any ideas? Would love to see the
Vanagon gas range being stretched a bit...
