Actually, it's not just dealers that can offer the extended warranties. When I got my car loan for the Happy Bus at my Credit Union, the loan rep asked if I wanted an extended warranty offered through the Credit Union. Looking back, I was VERY foolish to turn it down. Oh well... You live, you learn.
