I am also interested in what people have to say regarding gas vs. diesel. We
are beginning to consider a new engine for our '85 van and I am not really
comfortable putting a Subaru or some other engine in the vehicle -- I would
prefer to stay VW. That being the case, what are the plus and minus points
of the gas vs. diesel engine? Mostly I am looking for reliability and long
life.
