As others have said, you are not responsible for them ignoring the
flashing light and destroying the engine.  Let that be a lesson to you,
only sell a Vanagon to someone who understands it and will maintain and
appreciate it, it is not a car for idiots!  ;-)

You might buy it back for $500. . .
