Hi folks

Gee, I am feeling a bit guilty after reading everyone elses posts. I haven't
have even one problem with my diesel '82 Vanagon since I bought it a year
and a half ago and 16,000 miles later. Maybe there are some advantages to
the 48 HP diesel besides the consistent 30 MPG.

The vehicle was purchased from a logger in Northern California who was the
original owner and had 110,000 miles.

I did have one bolt come loose on a slave cylinder braket on a 3000 mile
cross country trip but that was not the fault on the Vanagon. It was a
maintenance issue.

I truely love this vehicle and never plan to get rid of it.
