Well, there go my hopes for a $1000US Syncro with electric hydroplanes etc.
I guess Japan is like NZ, and all Vanagons were private imports. No wonder
the dealers professed ignorance. They'd probably never heard of the model.

I guess I'll just have to stick with my 84 Caravelle, which is pretty tidy
really, but lacks the unstickability of four-wheel-drive. I've certainly
needed the 4WD capability of the university Mitsubishi Delica/L300 vans we
use!
