A Sawsall is not nearly as controllable as a saber saw. I use both often, but I find the reciprocating saw (such as Sawsall brand) is best for heavy, rough jobs. If I want to hack off a pipe, cut a hole in a wall, or cut the nails holding a stud in place, the reciprocating saw is great. For control, use a saber saw. ----- Original Message ----- From: Adam Puzerewski To: vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM Sent: Sunday, April 30, 2000 4:23 PM Subject: Cutting Pop Top Fiberglass. Has anyone cut thru the pop top fiberglass to add on a roof vent? I bought a venturi vent, and want to cut thru the top to install. I figure a sawsall, but want to be sure, for this is one item i do not need to screw up on!!!! Adam Puzerewski 81 Westy [text/html]
