Dear Riley,

Volkswagen actually made such a device for our Vanagons!
Page number 125-05 in the EKTA cd-rom.

The part numbers are:

253 867 769 blind for luggage boot (satin black, satin brown)
253 867 777 channel left (satin black, satin brown)
253 867 778 channel right (satin black, satin brown)
161 857 849 trim, black only (need two)
902 521 01 riveted cap nut, AM6/0,5-3 (need 4)
011 524 23 washer, A6, 4x12, 5x1.6 (need 4)
010 287 3 hex head screw, M6x16 (need 4)
331 867 799 handle, black only (need 4)

Your dealer "may" have to order it from Germany.

Cheers,
MJS

Has anyone ever tried to create a retractable cover for goods in the back
of a vanagon/wesfalia?

I am refering to something that would attach to the back door and could be
pulled to hooks in the back of the seats.
And could just as easily retract back.
Basically putting a vertical windowshade into a horizontal postition would
do the trick.
I have a blanket right now that i throw over my area, but i was wondering
if anyone has developed a more
permanent solution like i had thought of.
IT WOULD BE VERY SIMILAR TO WHAT A CONVERTIBLE USES TO HIDE THE FOLDED DOWN
ROOF.
This would be something to prevent curious people from looking at your stuff.

Thanks to the list,
Riley Kettner
