John, Probably not. The PO's of your Vanagon must have at one time or another changed the locks, (or entire handle assemblies). To become a one key man again you would need to re-key some locks. Cheapest would be your ignition and sliding door to match your two front door locks. Your weird rear hatch lock may be trying to tell you something. If your keys # 2 & #3 both work on that lock I'd say its' tumblers must be worn down to allow that. I realize folks of late have been reporting different key counts but I believe the majority of us with unchanged locks have three keys in total. A common ignition/door locks key, glove box key, and gas cap key. Since it's the ignition/door lock key which is used most often that is "almost" like having a one key system. Garrett Adams 83.5 Adventurewagen GL Stockton, California -----Original Message----- My newly-acquired '85 Westy needs three keys (a real PITA): 1. Ignition (only) key 2. Front door key (left/right) 3. Sliding door key To open the rear gate door uses key 2 or 3 (I just try until one works). I've never tried to lock the glove box. The gas cap is not lockable (I don't know if that is good or bad). Now for the $1,000,000 question: Is there any way, other than replacing the locks, to reduce the key count? - John
