This really isn't necessary. The thermostat on an aircooled engine only opens and closes a flap to help the engine warm up faster. When warm, the thermostat does nothing. Its not like a watercooled, where the thermostat continually is opening and closing. My recommendation is to do nothing. I've seen many, many bus engines without the thermostat. What kind of problem are you experiencing that you think is related to this? Believing this may be a problem I was wondering what parts I would need to get this working and quantity of each. Bus depot parts include Thermostat, Washers, Pulley, screw (#), Sealing Washer, bracket, cable, and union nut. Just wandering if this would do the job? Thanks Jay 80 Vanagon Still looking for the place where the water tastes like wine!?!
