I had the exact same scenario two months ago...called Blaupunkt and was told the memory chip had failed and it was not worth fixing.

  The wifey tried to use the factory setting 1111 instead of our code 0934 to fire it back up 3 times in a row and thusly rendered the thing useless (safe)

  The book says take it to a VW dealer ( there isn't one within a hundred miles)

  anyone know any tricks to get it reset? I'm sure the VW dealer thing can't be all that complex.
