I am putting a new stereo in my '85 Vanagon Westie. I would like to replace
the factory speakers found in the doors, however I am having trouble finding
speakers that will fit. All of the 4" speakers I have found have a 1/2 high
faceplate that if installed would not allow the door to be closed. I would
just put the new speakers in the old enclosure but I can't get the original
speakers out of it. I would like to avoid cutting more holes in my door if
at all possible.

Ideas?
