I just received a military surplus medical supply chest from Sportsman's Guide today. The measurements for front to back in the luggage rack were about perfect and as it turns out, it does indeed fit well. The chest is made of aluminum, so it's light and won't rust. The gasket is airtight and has 10 latches total. In fact, when I got it, I couldn't open it at first because there was a vacuum. I had to pry it slightly to relieve the internal low pressure. There are some pics on my web page: http://www.enter.net/~bloss/vw/bev.html It was $40, but I think it'll work out well. The olive drab might have to go though. :-) -Karl Karl and Kristina Bloss, Trexlertown, PA '87 Westfalia Weekender "Beverley" - 197K miles http://www.enter.net/~bloss/vw/ PA/NJ Vanagon owner's mailing list: http://www.enter.net/~bloss/vw/pavanagon/
