When I got to Spokane Sunscreen on Friday, I mentioned that people on the Vanagon list had suggested removing the window next to the cabinet to tint it. He looked at the windows, said "Sure, we can do that", and didn't charge any extra! Thanks for the suggestion, it resulted in a better looking job! I settled on Titanium, which has a very slight bluish tint to the grey, and is supposed to reject "Up to" 61% of heat. They did a medium-dark on the side and back windows, and a strip on top of the windshield. The front and vent windows have the lighter tint the law requires. It looks good, and we'll see how it goes this summer. Total cost with tax $188.09 The only problem so far is that the drivers side vent window has developed a loud whistle at speeds above 45mph. It goes away when I press on the front corner of the window. I solved it temporarily by using electrical tape on the outside, but something must have changed when they installed the tint. Anyone have any suggestions of what I can do to solve this without driving 85 miles back to Spokane? Speaking of driving, the Kumho 852s have had about 400 miles of highway driving. So far they are very stable and quiet at 39 psi front and 45 back. Below that they tend to wander a bit. Next weekend I'm off to V-Con in Vancouver, BC. That will probably be a good test of the tires and the tint.
