Hi Keith, From what part of the country did you come? I live in Clarkdale AZ, in the Verde Valley, about 20 miles from Sedona. There are about 5 other Vanagons here and from what I can tell from talking to a couple of them, they might as well be driving Big 3 Pick-um-ups. I've been up to Sedona because I was looking for a shop to work on mine a while back. Yes, there were more, driven by very nice people but their mechanics were in Flagstaff (50 miles north) or Phoenix (90 miles south). I finally had mine worked on in Prescott, only 45 miles away. I have since discovered there is someone here who works on VW's but I don't know if he works on Vanagons. His address is on, believe it or not, VW Bug Blvd. There is someone in Sedona who works on and sells European cars. I talked to him but he won't touch Vanagons. He said their owners were too hard to satisfy. Can you believe that?
