Mike, PolyShield is one such product. It's made Aervoe-Pacific in Gardnerville, Nevada. It's sold two ways: a can of the liquid goop for the traditional dip and drip method, or an aerosol spray. There are a number of colors but I've only bought it in black. It cost about $5.00-$6.00 at Orchard Supply (a subsidiary of Sears). Since this is a metal to paint contact I want to protect the paint. Years ago I saw an ad somewhere for a product that you could coat metal with a plastic coating, much like the plastic coating found on a pair of pliers or the roof mounts on a Thule rack system. The ad had a picture of someone dipping the handle of some pliers into a can of this stuff. Anyone ever seen this stuff, know what it's called, or know where I can get some?
