Yes it does.  A 9v square battery should be enough to demonstrate that the
fan works.  Working or not, however, the fan is probably worn out and ought
to be replaced.  The $25 Fridge-Mate fan from RV dealers works great;
there's a drawing on my website showing how to modify the original bracket
to accept the (better, quieter) FridgeMate fan.
