I'm having an odd problem with my vanagon.  For the last couple of days at
random times it has jumped up to about 2K RPM just sitting at idle.  If I
leave it for a while 2-3 minutes it comes back down to normal (around 1K).
It doesn't seem to be related to any enviromental factors but it does seem
like it is becoming more frequent.  It did it this morning when I got to
work after my 3 mile commute.  Anybody have any ideas on this one?  I am
about to take a short trip (about 500 miles) and I was planning on driving
the van but now I'm not so sure.
