I did this with my '87 Vanagon years ago before I got my '90 Westy. I used a sun roof with two latches and put it just behind the front seats, temporarily removing the center ducting. Just be sure to put it between the roof ribs. There was a very stiff wire that held the headliner up. I cut out the middle of that and sandwiched the ends in the frame of the sunroof. The finished installation was perfect and I never had any problems with leaks. Any questions, e-mail me directly as I will be in "nomail" mode 'till I return from Belize.
