Subject:Blue van FLYING I-75 Georgia Sat 6-10 - photo's!

Volks und Komraden,

A good looking Vanagon GL appearing to be about an '88 model came up behind
me Saturday, June 10, heading south on I-75 between Chattanooga, TN and
Atlanta, Georgia. I was moving on: doing about 75-80 mph. This blue
vanagon comes up and passes me. I was shocked. This has NEVER happened in
my 24 year history of driving. It was loaded down, and had two people in
the front seats visible. Both wearing hats. Had a pack of cigarettes on
the dash. I thought it was one of the list stickers on the rear window, it
was yellow. But then, I thought . . . .DOH -- don't even say it, k. It
was a Fahrfugnugen (sp) sticker. This van was flat out haulin butt. It
was flying. I had trouble keeping up with it. I was driving a turbodiesel
95 model truck. This could not be. My first thought: (I'm not kidding)
it must be a Subaru conversion, or some conversion. But, the tailpipe
configuration looked traditional. Maybe he just had it floored the whole
trip.
He maintained this speed for 40 miles or so until he disappeared AHEAD of
me. Once he got into Marietta, he just vanished into the haze of traffic.
I had my Kodak DC280 handy (former Boy Scout and head of National Security)
so I snapped some photo's. They came out pretty good. I can email to
anyone who wants. If you are the owner and on this List, let me say it was
good to see you. Maybe someone knows who it was. The van had a temporary
tag of some kind, appeared to be from a Kansas City auto dealer sales lot.
I was driving a green Dodge Ram. Turning about 2100 rpm.

You just never know what you will see out there!

HK
still vanless since February
