Subject:Propane vs. Freeze 12 vs. R-12

I heard of some folks using a propane-type refrigerant in their A/C systems.
I heard it taxes the compressor less and cools just as well.

Has anyone had any experiences with propane and how did that compare to
Freeze 12?

Is Freeze 12 as good or better than R-12?

I am about to replace the compressor on  my Westy and would like to consider
different options before filling the system.
