Subject:1986 Syncro Crew Cab 1.9 L

With the help of a very hard working and patient friend I recently rebuilt
my engine with new heads, [I was the helper, he was the worker] rings and
bearings. The engine started up fine and ran for about one week without
incident [about 600 klms].

Now when I start the engine and let it run at idle everything is fine BUT
when I increase the revs the engine oil light and buzzer come on and will
not stop. We replaced the .9mm sensor and the same occurs. We disconnected
the sensor and grounded the connection expecting this to switch off the
alarm but this also didn't work.

Our feeling is that it relates to the oil pressure control unit in the dash
but from the manuals we have referred too we are not sure how to trouble
shoot any further. Any suggestions?
