I hope someone can give me some guidance on this. I have an 85 Westy and the AC does not work. I tried adding refrigerant to it and it would not take it from the can. So I discharged the system, replaced the dryer or is it drier, and pulled a vacuum for 1/2 hour. I tried again,to fill the system with the same results. I was getting a reading of 50psi on the low and high sides, Initially there is some condensation on the can and it gets colder, but it stops quickly and no more will enter the system. I end up with a near full can of refrigerant. the Bentley book is great for 86 and newer, but it does not have good information on the 85 system. Is there a filter in the system that may be clogged? Is my compressor shot? I could see movement on the sight glass so something is happening. Thanks Graham MIngst
