Volks - The end of May I took my first long trip since getting a Digitool for my '87 Westy, driving from Moscow, Idaho to Vancouver B.C to attend a science fiction convention. I thought it would be interesting to see how my Digitool readings compare with other users. Everything went well, with the sole exception of disappointing gas mileage. Overall I averaged 17.5 Miles per US Gallon. I had just installed new Bosch rotor, cap and plugs from the Bus Depot. My battery voltage stayed between 13.15 and 13.36, so I didn't include it. Outside temperatures are estimates. O2 readings show approximate upper and lower readings. 5/26 Time Temp Weath Speed T1 T2 O2 AFM Comments 7:38 60 Clear 0 1.55 1.55 .3 1.59 Engine Start 7:51 60 " 60 1.45 .14 .0-.6 3.21 Flat Highway 8:19 65 " 25 1.36 .14 .0-.45 3.25 Up Steep Hill 9:12 65 " 66 1.28 .14 .15-.62 3.57 Strong Headwind 10:53 65 " 70 1.2 .14 .13-.65 3.91 Level Freeway - Headwind 2:41 60 Rain 65 1.41 .14 .04-.64 3.13 Level Freeway 5/29 12:08 60 Clear 60 1.57 .13 .64 3.81 Snoqualmie Pass 2:25 65 " 66 1.08 .14 .1-.64 3.38 Flat - No Wind Mike Finkbiner '87 Westy Moscow, ID ________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com
