Hi all,
I sort of solved the wobbly mirror problem that was bugging my '87 Diesel
panel van.
After trying to fix it the normal way (by tightening everything I could
tighten without breaking anything), which didn't work, I just let it wobble.
But then I trashed my windsurfboard (windsurfing is the main reason for
driving around in a van), and it promised to be windy the next day, so I
fixed it with so called Ding Stick (two-part epoxy which you can mix by
Play-Doughing it in your hands). I had a bit left and decided to fix my
mirror with it. I just crammed it in the space between the actual mirror
and the thingy attached to the car itself, adjusted the mirror like it
should be and let it dry overnight.
And I must say, it works pretty well. Of course you can't adjust the mirror
anymore, somebody else will have a tough time looking in the mirror and it
probably won't win any beauty prizes, but it doesn't wobble anymore and I
can see what's happening on my right hand side! It beats buying a new
mirror as well...
Greetings,
Peter.
