Sometimes (maybe even more often when its cold such as mornings) my 87
Vanagon does nothing when I turn the key.  I mean nothing!  No sound at
all.  One or two tries and it fires up just fine.  Sometimes it seems
like a slight delay before it fires up on the first try (same scenario:
no sound at all then it starts).

160000 total miles
new engine factory rebuilt with 3000 miles on it
otherwise car runs  great
