One of the metal coolant pipes on my 84 GL is severly rusted to the point of dripping.  Wonder if anyone has just cut off the pipe further up and replaced it with rubber hose?  Would this cause any problems in the future?  I'm on a limited budget at the moment and need to get this and the clutch disk, muffler, clutch slave, and another bad leak near the water pump fixed without breaking the bank.
