I just bought the CORRECT battery for a V-gon at a Sam's club.  It is branded
Champion International and cost less than $40.  They required a core or else
there is a $5 core charge.  The price is the same whether or not they install
it.  This replaced a properly-sized Sears Diehard; perhaps you spoke with the
wrong clerk at Sears.
